The sandals from Curious Red may not immediately come to mind when you think about which shoes to take on your next vacation. But they should. Below is my review of the Curious Red Sandals for travel.
Finding the right travel sandal
Travel and shoes are two of my favorite things and the sandals from Curious Red are my newest favorite warm-weather shoes to take on trips.
You may have not heard of Curious Red. You would not be alone. I found them because I was digging deep to find something a little different for my travels. I wanted something that did not look like I was always ready for a hike.
The sandals from Curious Red caught my eye because they are cute. Then I read the reviews, which are glowing. They began as a Kickstarter project and gained a loyal following. So I went ahead and ordered a pair.
A winner out of the box
I was sold from the very beginning. These sandals come in sustainable packaging and include a shoe bag, which makes packing a breeze. They have a simplified design with rope straps, suede soles and a pop of red. I will tell you that color options are limited. I think there are two: black or white. But I wanted something neutral that would go with almost anything I wear and the white ones definitely fit the bill. I love that I can wear them for outside adventures and then leave them on for a nice dinner…not that I go to many nice dinners, but if I do, I am prepared in the shoe department.
The straps are adjustable so you can get the perfect fit. But my favorite part is the back of the sandal. It comes up a bit to protect the heel and it is a game changer. I wish all sandals had this feature. Bonus: it keeps my feet a lot cleaner than any other sandals I have worn.
Curious Red sandals are lightweight and so comfortable. I can walk in them all day and have done so many times. The quality is great and the traction is good, although I have yet to test them in a lot of rain.
I ordered a 38 which is a 7.5 and it fits perfectly. They are true to size. But if you do not get the right fit the first time, they have a great return policy. The return policy is important because your only option to buy is online.
I paid $95 and I think they are worth the price.
Conclusion
Overall, I really like the Curious Red sandals for my travel adventures and I feel comfortable recommending them. Give ‘em a try and let me know what you think.
